Europe 2014: Introduction

The summer of 2014, my older sister and I spent three weeks traveling through Europe. At ages 18 and 19, with our belongings crammed into backpacks, and no set plan we set flight on an adventure of a life time.

Our wandering took us from the lovely town of Brussels, Belgium, through London, England, and then to France where we visited the cities of Normandy, Paris, Cannes, and Nice. Then onto Florence, Rome, and Venice, Italy. Next we went to Vienna, Austria and Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Finally, back to Brussels in order to fly home to the States.

As we began our journey, we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. We encountered many frustrating and challenging, yet exhilarating and breathtaking experiences. Can you imagine visiting buildings older than your own country? Gazing upon monuments full of rich history? Or meeting people with entirely different cultures and languages? We sure can.

You too can understand the joys travel as you embark with me as I share our day to day adventures. Let’s go…
